Taking on the role of Designer and 3D Visualizer for the "Shakes & Ladders" Kickstarter was a unique challenge: how do you transform a classic double-decker bus into a fully functional board game café?
My first task was establishing the brand identity. I designed a logo that blended iconic bus elements with a playful gaming vibe, supported by bold, highly visible signage. Next came the space itself. Using SketchUp, I planned the interior and exterior layouts. Working within the tight constraints of a bus required strategic thinking, which ultimately led to placing the kitchen and service area downstairs and dedicating the upstairs entirely to seating.
To bring the campaign to life, I stepped behind the camera. Drawing on my background in TV production, I independently filmed and edited a high-energy explainer video and a custom layout showcase for our social media. Later in the campaign, I also used Blender 3D to create realistic renders of a custom wooden dice tower for our backers.
Ultimately, this Kickstarter failed but it gave me deep insights into branding and operations, inspiring my ongoing focus on design for catering businesses.
